Midas Group
Since its formation in 1976, Midas has grown to become the largest independent property services group within the South West of England. Len Lewis, the founder, quickly realised that the new business needed advice from specialist Insurance Brokers because of the complex nature of the risks it was running. Foster Leighton are proud to have been appointed in 1980 to act and to have looked after what has now become the Midas group. Under the helm of it’s new Chairman Steve Hindley, Midas Group is now one of the UK's fastest growing independent providers of property solutions, offering a complete range of construction and property related services for every industry sector. One of the most challenging projects Midas has been involved with recently has been the restoration and refurbishment of a listed Cotswold Manor House and stables.
The project presented no less a challenge to Foster Leighton and the Insurers, as we were called on to devise a programme that entailed covering the original Manor House for £10 million, the contract works for £20 million and Liabilities for up to £50 million. The enormous sums involved tested the capacity of the insurance companies, but we are pleased to say we were able to place covers in the market, and the Project was completed by Midas on time and without the need to make a major claim on the Policy for any reason.
