Foster Leighton goes over the top for CHICKS
Two members of Foster Leighton's staff have helped a local charity CHICKS to raise over £3,000 by abseiling down the side of the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Our picture shows the intrepid pair, John Foster and Elaine Dyer just about to embark on their scary 75ft descent back to terra firma. Naturally, Health and Safety and Risk Assessments were uppermost in their minds but we are pleased to say that the training and safety drills given by the CHICKS team of instructors were first class, and of course insurance for the whole event was placed by Foster Leighton. On getting back to the ground Elaine said 'If I had known how high it was I would never have agreed to do it, but once I got over the top it was great fun, and a wonderful sense of achievement to get down in one piece!'
Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS) is a registered children's charity, founded in 1992, which offers free, 6-day residential respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK, who would not otherwise have a holiday that year. They provide a unique experience of care, understanding and support with outdoor activities, games, team building and crafts.
